Getting Involved

Whether you have a little time to spare or want to take a more active role, there are many ways to support neurodivergent children and their families. Our services are in high demand, and as we grow to meet the needs of our community, volunteers play an essential part in helping us expand what we can offer.

You can get involved in ways that suit your time, skills, and interests, such as:

  • Helping organise community events and activities
  • Supporting one of our weekly evening sessions
  • Guiding and encouraging other parents as they navigate their journey

Reviews

I love volunteering at Autism Awareness Hub Roscrea as I want to help provide a safe, fun filled, inclusive environment for every family that crosses our path.

Time spent volunteering in the AAR club can often be one of the highlights of my week. It’s just lovely to be having fun, helping & surrounded by wonderful people, both members & volunteers. We laugh so much and I always leave there much happier than when I went in. Win-win I think.

I’m lucky to volunteer with Autism Awareness Roscrea because it is something I genuinely enjoy. It is a fun and rewarding part of my week, an opportunity to meet amazing people while making a positive contribution to the community. Autism Awareness Roscrea enables me to participate in inclusive, fun and rewarding events and clubs that help me to better understand and enjoy the diversity that is a community of understanding and acceptance!

As someone who move to the area 5 years ago the AAR has welcomed my family and I with open arms. Being a volunteer has made me have a wonderful community around me. I enjoy the club night and events as not only do I see happy children, I get to meet parents going through a similar journey as myself and we share advice and support each other.
